It is an idea that everything in your vehicle is covered by your automobile insurance policy in case of theft. The truth is that the vehicle itself and attached equipment is covered by an automobile insurance policy in Ontario, Canada. While car theft applications are running on an event, there are some things you should know before you load your vehicle with goods and leave the car parked in the street at night.
For example, if a person is caught in a TV for repairs and the car is stolen with still inside the TV, the TV is not covered. Similarly, if you were visiting relatives during holidays, and have not emptied the trunk full of gifts and your car is stolen while the car is covered on your auto policy, these gifts are not covered on your auto policy.
If a person is on vacation and baggage and clothing in the car and the car is stolen, luggage and clothing are not covered under the automobile policy.
So how do to ensure the contents of your car? Simply – items such as TV, luggage, clothing, cell phones, laptops, and CD are covered by property insurance.
Therefore, if you have property insurance and auto insurance, all auto theft claims not cover the contents inside the vehicle, but your property insurance covers the loss of these items. However, note that you must pay the deductible on policies in order to seek compensation for your losses.
There is one reservation. We assume that the CD was stolen with your car along the fall under the franchise. You do not decide whether or not it's worth it to pay the difference. This is true for clothing, phones cellular and other articles in May that does not exceed the deductible.
Unfortunately, if a thief wants to steal your car, they can take seconds because today car thief are sophisticated and aware of all new auto theft prevention on the market today.
According to a source Canada, here are the vehicles most stolen in 2007:
* 1999 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
* 2000 Honda
2004 Subaru Impreza STi 4-door. This model is also the highest theft claim cost.
Acura
Dodge
Audi
These sources also indicate that "no most stolen cars are often equipped with immobilizers that meet the national standard of Canada. According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, all new regulations requiring cars, trucks, vans and SUVs to come equipped with electronic immobilization devices are entered in force until 1 September 2007. The Honda Civic is a good example. The new models this year that has installed the immobilizer Honda meeting of the National Standard of Canada appear much lower on the list.
The next time you visit relatives or go to the supermarket, check your vehicle and the trunk to ensure there are no valuables in the trunk or back seat. Prevention is the first line of defense against auto theft claims.
