Overview:

• GBC Accucut A300 rotary trimmer is also marketed as the Swingline SmartCUT Lite. Although these two cutters have different names, they are identical.
• The A300 is a rotary knob that is designed for cutting paper, album pages, presentations, projects, desktop publishing and more.
• It is designed to be an economical solution for small offices and offices in search of low-volume paper cutting.

Strengths / Features:

• The Swingline SmartCUT Lite offers a 12 "length of cut which is ideal for trimming documents as large as 11" x 17 "size. It can also be used to cut 12 "x 12" scrapbooking paper.
• The A300 has a rule Accucut the top of the mower that offers both metric and Imperial. It also has an alignment grid printed on the base of the cutting unit. The alignment grid is ideal to help ensure what you get whenever the cuts.
• The cutting blade on the A300 travel along a transparent cutting guide that allows users to see exactly where the blade Voyage. This ensures the most precise cuts.

The plastic components are the A300 much less durable than larger professional rotary trimmers.
• Although the SmartCUT Lite is estimated to reduce by ten sheets of paper, which is not ideal for the cutting of more than a few sheets of paper at one time. It is really more of a trimmer with a knife. A guillotine style cutting of paper is best for cutting small cells of paper and a rotary knob is the most used for cutting laminated documents and other materials.
• The A300 uses cutting a rug that is placed under the rotary cutting blade. The cutting mat ensures the quality of the cut by the trimmer. The carpet must be cut reversed or replaced on a regular basis to ensure a quality cut. It is always a good idea to keep one hand on the cutting mat if you would need to replace the carpet of your knife.

Recommendation:

• For organizations that need to cut some number of documents or if you want to add a decorative border or a perforated section to their documents, SmartCUT Lite is a logical choice.
• However, it is important to recognize that this is a cutter that is designed for personal use. The plastic in the A300 is a decent choice for scrapbooking, and craft projects. However, it is far from ideal for commercial applications of any type or volume of the cut.
• It is also important to remember that SmartCUT lite is designed as a potentiometer and not a cutter. For any type of volume cutting, a guillotine cutter is a better solution.
