Key Switch
Lawn Mower solenoid and has a new key. I must skip the solenoid positions to start what could be the problem?
As I have said, it starts when I touch the two posts of the solenoid with a screwdriver and the key is' on '. But I can not get crank when the key is turned 'start'. I just put a new solenoid and same story, does not crank unless I jump the posts. I used a new key and again, same story. I am very frustrated, someone has any help?
I had the same problem some time. It frusterated hell out of me, and I'll give you a pad solution is simple, fast and relatively cheap. As others have said above, it is more than likely a bad pass key to your son the solenoid. You can run another thread, if you know who it is on the position of the key. OR, you can visit your local auto parts, a 12-volt push-button start and some telegram. Run a wire from each pole on the start of these two poles, you jump with your screwdriver, drill a hole in the dashboard, in some place, and voila, problem-redneck re-engineering! I did it simply because my hands and large short of patience, and was in no mood to dig under the dash and find the bad blankedy hold. This is not good solution, but it works! A word of warning, crank the engine any time the button is pressed, the race, it touches or not, etc etc
