The best golf courses in the world: A Top 10 Golf Courses Guaranteed To Challenge!

We check all the lists that we have … Eating in restaurants, hotels we stay in the things we have to do. For golfers, the list of ticks "The courses I play before I die (and preferably even though I can still get a round golf under 100). "

I had the chance to play golf on five of the six continents (Australasia here I come!) And I always traveled with my clubs since the age of nine. Over the years, I saw incredible variety in the design of golf courses – I calculated that I played around 1500 golf clubs and I do not know how many balls I lost! It was inevitable that I play golf courses that would be better used as fields cows and more that I could play for the rest of my life. Some of the golf courses' architecture is flattering on the handicap and others make you think, to fight a little more and eventually abandon all thoughts of posting a good map of the coin. However, if the course can beat you and you attract even more to return, it must be good. Here are my top 10 golf courses that offer a difficult challenge.

Kingbarns

Wow, this golf course design is good. Off the coast to the west of St Andrews, it is quite new, but you certainly could not say the test is infallible. Superb golf links green with large, thick wispy rough and breathtaking views. You need a caddy, a drink and a high concentration. Fair valued by many Pro as their favorite place in this part of the world.

Ballybunion

Each time I played here is a blow but it Hoole the west coast of Ireland so what can I expect? The golf courses' architecture (new and old) provides wonderful tests of golf with all blows in the wrong necessary. Dunes, treacherous greens and wind coming from all directions. You know you've played golf after 36 holes here. The clubhouse is very waterproof, but avoid buying – it would be cheaper getting wet!

Hunstanton

In fact, I prefer Royal West Norfolk just Hunstanton but there is a severe test of nerves. In particular, as I always seem to play scratch foursomes and I'm playing the evens. The main difficulty here is the greens – many of which are below or above you and are all very well kept. Wind plays havoc with your readers, but a good shot is rewarded and a bad shot is penalized if you can not complain. Wonderful and traditional club golf game, took the design of golf course easily made the list.

Les Bordes

Robert von Hagge is one of my favorite designers and he created five courses in France, which are classified in the Top 50 European Seignosse, Royal Mougins, Golf and National Kempferhof are the other four. Les Bordes is his best and, as such, easily makes my top 10 golf courses. With water on 14 holes and huge white bunkers and narrow fairways, you you must concentrate for the entire four hours. I can not think of a single hole. However, what von Hagge do is to provide an easier (even less) at night. You can sleep and eat in the shelter of the Loire Valley.

Chantilly Vineuil

A beautiful Tom Simpson gem. This designer is probably my favorite and it was incredibly prolific whereas it was at its peak, before the age of the aircraft Trip. And it not only works hard, he has worked brilliantly and his creations have stood the test of time to remain among the best golf courses in the world with effortless ease. Chantilly, north of Paris, is a park with over thick rough and tricky greens. The bunkers are well placed and each hole is a challenge – whether the length, an oak tree overhanging the fairway corner, a triple green or a massive bunker in the middle of the fairway. A best golf courses in the world, and certainly deserves a place in my top 10 of golf!

Canouan Island

Having just returned from here and lost about five balls per round, I would like to return even better prepared. Part of the Grenadine islands, it is a corner of paradise and the golf course Jim Fazio matches. The front nine is demanding hours on the tee to landing areas are very narrow and the wind from the beach (just meters) can really punish the ball. The rear is new and great traitor to the same time … every shot must be on the premises. The greens and fairways are immaculate, but rough and the soft stuff is a big no-go zone! The best golf course architecture in the Caribbean by a long way.

Pebble Beach

I have not played much in the States, but I played some of their best. For me, Pebble Beach is the tops. There is the usual US-style slick service that well and the condition of the course is typical of the California climate. Rated No.1 public USA golf course, this is not the more difficult than you can cope but you know, the green-keeper is being kind to you. However, getting a little wind and let the story of the effect about you and there is a very nasty bite behind the beautiful façade of the design of the golf course …

The European

They say that the pro tour have left the course – but they play only for money and the rest of us can play for fun! A simple club denies the genius of the design. Rather long and with great finesse placed bunkers, you must be Gary Player and John Daly, if you will beat this golf course design and evaluation here. Again, opinions are also distracting as a beautiful woman at a church and you need a lot of balls or a basket with a long stick. South Dublin and better than the big names of the courses.

Le Touessrok

For a so-called holiday golf, it is difficult! Mauritius is now one of (if not the) best exotic golf destinations around the world, with no fewer than six first-class. Le Touessrok, however, takes the biscuit with tight fairways and tiny greens. I played this course several times, each with a different game plan … every time I failed, but I come back for more than The course offers one or two birdies and a wonderful dinner. This golf course architecture is unique because it is the only one in the world to take on an entire island, and to get there, you take the private launch of the hotel. In fact, this may be why I never play as well that I'm too relaxed by the time I arrive!

Barbaroux

Designed by Pete Dye and located in the heart of Provence, is a beast of a field golf with a charming three star hotel and two restaurants. Even by today's standards, it along the back but I remember it is one of the first course I had to hit a driver and a little wood for three to four hours by a hit in regulation today … balls to make that shorter, but it is still one of the few courses where you can play every shot and every club in your bag. Moreover, some of the greens are 80 yards long, so clubbing is so important (unless you want to four). Terrific target golf with breathtaking scenery that provides memorable design course Golf is still going to sneak into my top 10!
