How do I interpret Driver Shaft torque numbers?
I have 2 different drivers I’m interested in trying, one shaft has a torque number of 4.6 degrees and the other has a torque number of 3.2 degrees, both regular flex. How will these 2 different torque levels differ in relation to my driver swing. How will it effect my shots? I swing the driver around 90 mph.
The torque value of 4.6 is most likely a “looser” shaft, compared to the 3.2 torqued shaft.
The 3.2 will result in tighter shot dispersions, over the 4.6 one..
The higher the torque, the more the shaft will twist.
The lower the torque rating.. the more resistant to twisting ..
Torque is only applied to graphite shafts.. since graphite fibers are designed to twist. Doesn’t apply to Steel Shafts.
The difference in 4.6 to 3.2 may not even be noticable by the average golfer.
