How much damage would a steel sword do to iron / copper armour / weapons in a battle?
Basically if someone swung a steel sword at a copper or iron blade would it cut right thought it, cut halfway, dent or do nothing? Would a steel sword go straight though copper/iron armor or is the armor strong enough to stop the blade.
Hoping someone knows cause I can’t go into the backyard and test it out…..
No one can give you an accurate answer. Too many variables.
However, just consider the ‘hardness’ of the metal of any weapon. Steel, even low grade would do SERIOUS damage to a copper weapon, most likely making the copper to bend or dent. Copper is so ‘soft’ it would likely ‘buckle’ rather than break, iron, on the other hand, striking a good grade of steel would likely shatter/snap/break because it is hard, but brittle compared to steel(iron with carbon)
