What Creates Club Head Speed?

I became fascinated by the game of golf as soon as I did until about 8 years. My experience in engineering and my studies in biomechanics Allowed me to take a scientific approach to studying the golf swing.

I quickly realized the complexity is not only understanding the concepts of a sound swing, but also in the implementation of these concepts.

After many studies and much of the game, I realized the secret of a good swing is first you must understand the concepts, then you must make these concepts at work by developing the "feel" of a background sound of the swing …

A swing you can repeat again and again.

The swing operates alongside the laws of physics and what we do to these laws would only delay the learning process.

I hope that the scientific debate about what are the mechanics of a sound swing, and how to develop a repeatable sound you can swing it all helped me.

How do you develop pro club, as the head speed?

If ever there is a Holy Grail in golf … it is!

Most golfers are looking for a more club head speed (or distance) with the same force religious are searching for the chalice Christ and his disciples drank at the Last Supper …

The holy grail in golf!

Let me propose a question to you: what part of your body do you think contributes most to the club head speed?

The answer to this question was to make a profound impact on my understanding of the golf swing. I can tell you that most of the gurus of the golf swing and what to mention, in passing, do not give it justice it deserves.

Jon Barrett of Golf Swing Eureka carried out a survey and asked golfers the question: – What part of body contributes the most to club head speed?

Only 20% a good response!

Only 1 to 5 players!

And these golfers ranged from zero to high Handicapper golfer.

Curiously, this figure relates to another golfing statistic – Did you know that only 20% of golfers have a disability under 18?

I started to wonder that perhaps the secret of a good swing and resulting lower scores is a clear understanding of this fundamental aspect of the golf swing.

Which part of your body do you think contributes most to the club head speed?

Is it:
• Shoulders
• Arms
• Hands
• Hips
• Legs
• Torso
• Wrist

The answer:

*** THE HANDS CONTRIBUTE THE MOST TO CLUB HEAD SPEED !!!***

High handicap golfers usually "take" through the impact area causing a weak hit resulting in a slice or a push shot.

The reason High handicappers "hold on "through impact, I believe, because they do not have a fundamental understanding of what creates club head speed …

Let me make an illustration that "hammer" (excuse the pun) of the concept. Try to hammer a nail without breaking your wrist … simply use your arms and body … keep your wrist rigid … not a lot of power huh?

Now hammer the nail than breaking or releasing your wrist, no body, no arms … much more power huh? You use the momentum and strength to create power centrifigal with very little effort …

Much like golf!

Have you ever watched a golf trick shot artist? It can hit a Golf Ball 275 yards while kneeling on the floor. This is contrary to the theory that the legs and hips that create power in the golf swing are not … ya think?

How do you think generates so much power while on his knees?

Effort power from a full version of the hand through the impact zone … remember the hammer example I gave you? This is how a 150lb person can crush 300 yard drives … they have learned this important concept.
